But first let’s look at some troubling statistics. As you are probably aware, most people who attempt to build a successful network marketing business fail. In fact, the reason why the industry is always facing an uphill battle concerning its image, is simply due to the fact that of the millions of people who have attempted to build a successful network marketing business…97% have not been able to earn more than they spend on their business each month! Of the remaining 3%, only about 1 out of 4 make the kind of money that most people dream about when they start their business.

 

Think about those statistics for a moment. Out of 143 people who decide to build a network marketing business, only 1 will make it big, and maybe 2 more will build a substantial income that will allow them to go full-time and quit their day job! Ouch!

 

But it does not have to be this way!!!

 

If you build your business following the guidelines on this site, you can stack the odds completely in your favor. You can know with confidence that if you learn the necessary skills and implement a plan that is based on strategies known to work, your success is not some 1 chance in 143, but instead just a step by step process that will result in you reaching your goals!

 

So what makes it so difficult for most people to succeed in this industry?

 

There are several things that are missing from most network marketers’ business plan, but basically it boils down to marketing. Think about this…out of all the people in the world, how many do you think are really open to the idea of starting any type of business; let alone a networking business in general or your business in particular?

 

Most people are taught to build a list of their family, friends and acquaintances in order to contact their warm market. But even if you have a list of 100 people, how many realistically will be interested in joining any business opportunity; let alone yours?

 

After you run out of your warm market you switch to the three foot rule where anytime someone gets within three feet of you, they get pitched on your opportunity. This is before you know if they are even receptive to the idea of starting a business.

 

Now can these methods work if you have the right personality and thick enough skin? Sure! But statistically only about 3% of the population can handle that type of rejection. Which brings up a second problem with many traditional MLM or network marketing companies. Their compensation plans are designed so that in order for you to build a substantial income you are going to need 5000 to 10,000 or more people in your downline to start seeing the big money.

 

Well if you are utilizing a traditional low volume lead approach like pitching your family, friends, acquaintances and the three foot rule, combined with the fact that only approximately 3% of the population can handle that kind of rejection and you need a downline the size of a small city to make any real money….you have a textbook blueprint for failure!

 

And this is the crux of the problem with traditional network marketing, as it creates a “catch 22” situation. People do not like to be sold, but they do like doing business with people they know, like and trust. The problem is that for most aspiring network marketers their sphere of influence is too small to have enough people that might be in the market to start their own home-based business that already know, like and trust them. Throw in the fact that you need a group the size of a small city to succeed and you have the potential for disaster!

 

Now all MLM companies sales brochures state that all you have to do is sponsor three people…and those three sponsor three each…and so on and so on…until you are really rolling in the dough. Unfortunately the reality is in order to be successful you need to sponsor 100 or more people to find the few that can also go out there and sponsor a lot of people. Then those few have to sponsor 100 or more people to find a few good business builders and you can see where this leads to most people failing!
